Clydesdale Community Initiatives Scotland (CCI Scotland) approached us to develop a feasibility study and business plan for a new social enterprise. CCI Scotland is an award-winning social enterprise that provides landscape solutions across Scotland. The social enterprise operates entirely to the benefit of its charitable arm, Clydesdale Community Initiatives (CCI).
CCI is on a mission is to give everyone the opportunity to contribute to their community by providing health benefits and increased social inclusion for people affected by mental health, learning difficulties and socially disadvantaged young people. Through the income produced by CCI Scotland, CCI delivers on this mission.
CCI Scotland were keen to diversify their income streams to be less reliant on grant funding. They had an idea to produce and install natural street furniture in Scotland, having teamed up with product design and engineering students at Strathclyde University to create a potential product range. What they needed to know was how realistic this idea was and what they needed to do to launch this as a social enterprise successfully. We saw an opportunity to find a solution that was useful, cost-effective and fun.
